    Industrial Ergonomics

    How heavy is ‘too heavy’?

    How repetitive is this job?

    Is this equipment ‘ergonomic’?

    How high should this be?

These are questions that I hear all the time. Having an assessment at the workplace will help answer these and other questions. Most people tell me that they want to be confident that their employees are working safely. Benefits of ergonomic intervention include:

    • Reduced costs through decreased absenteeism, injuries and WCB rates
    • Productivity increases along with job satisfaction and quality of work
    • Improved employee retention resulting in reduced training costs

WHAT TYPES OF SERVICES ARE THERE?

    Industrial Ergonomic Assessment

    • Interview with employees to understand job demands
    • Observation of the work area using video and photos
    • Measurements of the work area (heights, weights, etc)
    • Assessment of risk levels for job tasks using tools such as RULA, REBA, Strain Index, NIOSH
    • Report that outlines the job duties, risk factors and recommendations

    Physical Demands Analysis (PDA)

    • Interview with employees to understand job demands
    • Observation of the work area using video and photos
    • Measurements of the work area (heights, weights, etc)
    • Assessment of risk levels for job tasks using tools such as RULA, REBA, Strain Index, NIOSH

A sample report is available upon request

Answering your specific question may require on-site analysis, presentations to the workers, or research literature reviews for specific equipment to help answer your question.
