  • Occupational therapy practitioners are professionals who help you when you have trouble doing daily activities because of an injury, a health issue like a stroke, or a chronic medical condition. It teaches you the skills you need to live independently and perform everyday tasks more easily and with less pain.

    OT Intervention focuses on activities that can be as basic as getting dressed and eating or as complex as socializing and holding a job.

  • Occupational and physical therapy both fall within the rehabilitative sciences and share many similarities, however, there are distinct differences in the approach each takes with a patient's rehabilitative care. An Occupational Therapist focuses on improving the patient’s ability to perform activities of daily living or work while a Physical Therapist focuses on improving the patient's ability to move their body.

    Occupational therapy treatment is centered around adapting, modifying, or changing daily activities that a person is required or wants to do. OTs do this by altering the activity, environment, or the skills of the person and patient education.

    Physical therapy treatment focuses on movement to optimize quality of life. This is done through hands-on care, prescribed exercises and patient education. .
