Occupational Therapy Services
When an injury, illness, or disability limits your ability to live your life, we help by teaching new skills, using adaptive devices that assist you, and developing a plan to help you return to your ‘job of living,’ including taking care of yourself and your family, enjoying leisure activities, pursuing hobbies, and working.
Home Modifications and Accessibility Design
We assist in designing barrier-free environments specific activities of daily living (ADL’s). ADL’s are daily self-care skills, or activities, required to manage your physical needs. When assessing ADL’s we look at the level of function, and/or assistance the individual needs to perform their daily activities.
Return to Work Planning and Functional Testing
Our experience in functional rehabilitation settings allows us to assist in developing gradual progressions of hours and duties when an injured worker is returning to regular or modified job duties. This ensures an efficient transition back into the workplace. A functional abilities evaluation can accurately assess an individual’s ability to safely perform material handling (i.e., pushing, pulling, carrying) and postural activities.
Hand Splinting
We fabricate custom-made splints from thermoplastic materials or modify pre-fabricated splints to meet an individual’s specific needs. Splinting can help reduce pain for those with upper extremity conditions, including osteoarthritis (OA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and carpal tunnel syndrome by supporting, immobilizing, and protecting the arm or hand. Types of splints include resting hand splints, thumb spica splints, and static progressive splints for joint mobilization.
